Carla Crow has earned statewide and regional recognition for her unique
personal vision expressed through acrylic paintings on both canvas, bark paper and state-of-the-art
digital printing on archival papers. Her continuing experiments in
the use of handmade bark papers are prompted by her research into
Hawaiian and Polynesian art and traditions.
Born in Chicago in 1946, art has always been an influence in Carla
Crows life. Carla Crow's passion for art flourished when she moved to Maui, Hawaii in the 80's. Working as a flower harvester provided her needs as she kick started her art career. Inspiration abounded in the beauty of the island and its local color and culture. Carla lived and painted on Maui for 25 years. She is represented by select Maui galleries and returns to her heart's home often. In 2009 her fate landed her in Eugene, Oregon. “I'm in love with the Pacific Northwest. It suits me physically, spiritually and creatively.”
Some of Carla Crow's original paintings were selected by the Hotel Hana-Maui to be used
as the matrix for a very limited edition of Giclee prints to decorate the guest suites.
