Lithuania) is a multidisciplinary artist working across multiple media: painting, printmaking, fiber and clay. Working both in Hana, HI and Evanston, IL.

She addresses her ceramics as if they were three-dimensional canvas. Her process allows the shape to inform the surface. Aesthetic decisions come naturally to her by way of her other practices. Occurring intuitively, her lines and images arise from printmaking. Her color palette derives from her European classically-trained, painter’s-eye… while the vessels’ sensual surfaces echo the hand & feel of her masterly felting practice..

Kerr graduated with a Masters in Art Education from the Art Academy of Lithuania, in 1985. Afterwards she began teaching gifted-children at the Children’s Art School of Lithuania, 1985-1995. She emigrated to the U.S. (1995) where she then taught in the Chicago Public Schools’ “Young Rembrandts,” after-school program..

Soon thereafter, Kerr opened her studio practice with The Fine Art of Leather in Evanston (1999). Eventually expanding her private space into a combined teaching studio and art gallery, Ausrine’s Arts Room in 1993. After graduating from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (Interior Design), and since 2016, she has divided her studio-time between Evanston, IL and Hana, HI. Exhibiting solo and in group shows since 1985, in both Europe and the U.S., Kerr’s work can be found in private collections in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and China..
