The Art of Sybil Sea

At the age of 10, Sybil Sea first visited Hāna, Maui. She promised “Hāna Bay, the birds and clouds” that she would return one day.

She has realized her dreams. Living near the ocean in Hāna at Hanapapalani, her inspiration comes from plants, birds, animals, land, sea and sky. Her images of realism and fantasy are created with a palette of pure joy.

Sybil Sea spent 20 years as a potter in Carmel, California. She drew scenes of nature on clay. Realizing that she was filling her pottery with line drawings, she went back to painting on canvas and ultimately ink painting on silk.
